Touch typing isn't knowledge to memorize or theory to understand - it's a habit you build through practice. All you need is some eagerness and a little time.
There's nothing original to say here: practice, practice, and practice again. Patience and ambition help. Above all - don't lose heart. The first few days are the hardest; after that, progress comes faster than you'd expect.
From your very first exercise, try to strike the keys rhythmically, keeping regular intervals between presses. Speed will follow naturally once the habit settles in. Slow and even is always faster than fast and uneven.
Over time you'll catch yourself no longer glancing at the keyboard - your eyes will follow the text on the screen, and you'll fix mistakes as they happen. The best typists reach 240–450 characters per minute. Maybe soon you'll be one of them.
